Oil painting titled 'Cottonwoods Autumn' (1929) attributed to the American landscape artist DeWitt Parshall (1864–1956). It includes an inscription on the rear signed by DeWitt's son the painter Douglas Ewell Parshall (1899-1990). It is a bright, lively landscape with a large cottonwood tree in bloom on its right hand side. DeWitt Parshall is an American landscape painter born in Buffalo, who moved with his family to Santa Barbara, California in 1917. One of his paintings is owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
